What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive fat removal procedure. It causes no damage to the skin, and requires no downtime. As the most popular non-surgical body contouring device, CoolSculpting is cleared for use in over 80 countries worldwide, and has been studied more extensively than any other body sculpting technology.
The safe method uses an applicator to freeze fat cells in a process called cryolipolysis. Because fat cells are more sensitive to the cold than the other cells in your body, they freeze and die off without damaging adjacent tissue. Your fat cells will not return, nor will they migrate to anywhere else in your body.
CoolSculpting provides lasting results for as long as you maintain your body weight. Now, CoolSculpting is even more effective with CoolSculpting Elite.
What Is CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting Elite is the new and improved version of CoolSculpting Legacy. It provides all the same benefits of traditional CoolSculpting, and then some. The following benefits have not changed:
- Freezes fat using cryolipolysis
- Non-surgical and non-invasive
- Requires no downtime
As with CoolSculpting Legacy, CoolSculpting Elite is cleared by the FDA to remove unwanted body fat in the following nine body areas:
- Inner, outer, and front of the thighs
- abdomen
- flanks or love handles at the waist
- bra fat on the torso under the armpits
- back fat
- underneath the buttocks, known as ‘banana rolls’
- upper arms
- submental area under the chin
- submandibular area under the jawline
Both CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting Elite may require multiple treatments to achieve the desired results. However, with CoolSculpting Elite, treatment is more effective and each appointment is faster.

CoolSculpting Elite offers a number of improvements over CoolSculpting Legacy, including the following:
Improved Applicators
Elite applicators are no longer U-shaped but C-shaped, and come in 7 different shapes and sizes. This new and improved design better fits the body’s natural curves. CoolSculpting Elite’s advanced applicators make treatments more comfortable and more efficient.
Enhanced Fat Removal
Thanks to improved contact between the applicator and the skin’s surface, cooling is faster and results are improved. CoolSculpt Elite removes 20-25% fat in a single treatment, versus its predecessor which removed 18-20% fat at each visit.
Faster Results In Fewer Treatments
CoolSculpting Elite makes contact with the body in a more efficient manner, as Elite applicators cover up to 18% more skin surface than CoolSculpting Legacy. This means larger treatment areas can be targeted in less time (shorter treatment sessions). Not only that, but each device has the ability to use two applicators at the same time (commonly referred as Dual Sculpting). Each CoolSculpting Elite machine can address two different treatment areas at the same time. This shortens appointment times considerably, since multiple areas can be treated at one.

Improvements to the CoolSculpting machine itself means treatment is quieter and more precise. CoolSculpting may feel like mild pinching or pulling until the area is numbed.
