Get The Look: Hot Makeup Trends for Fall / Winter 2013
Makeup and fashion are ever changing and at the Rae Cosmetics Studio we have spent countless weeks, months and years in the heart of the beauty and fashion scene. We have witnessed transitions from trend to trend and the evolution of some classic styles. It is always exciting to see what the new season will bring!
For fall 2013, one of the biggest trends is dramatic eye makeup, a dark smoky eye or cat eye, often described in pop culture as the ‘Kardashian look.’ Women of all ages are bringing in photos of this very well pictured celebrity for reference to convey their vision of a sultry, dramatic and glamorous application.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum is the desire for a very natural look, with an emphasis on dewy skin and a radiant glow. Many women are choosing an understated neutral palette of soft browns, beige, pinks and warm golds. This style is timeless, what you could actually call an untrendy look that will last a lifetime.
The thing that I think gives both of these looks the modern fall 2013 -14 twist Is the eye-catching pop of pink on the cheeks. Just like the new Rae Cosmetics blush color for 2014 ‘Spring Fling’.
It seemed like every designer at NYFW from Micheal Kors to Oscar de la Renta to Alice + Olivia styled their models with flirty, flushed cheeks. This is the one look that will definitely go from the runway to real life.
Pantone is also a huge trendsetter. Every year pantones experts in the industry pick the color of the year. We all remember tangerine tango in 2012 and emerald in 2013. Well, 2014 is the year of brilliant blue, the fabulous cobalt blue will be everywhere. Down the runways, on the racks, on your eyelids and I guarantee in every one of our closets as well.
